To best learn about MBHS, you should really look at the Students' Work section or at the Computer Club You will get a better read of the school through the kids and not through any FAQ text. Another source would be the Internet Projects section.
However, if you insist here is some textual info:
Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers opened its doors in 1975. The students major in business related courses such as Secretarial Studies, Accounting, Marketing, Law, Information Systems, Securities & Finance, and Computer Science. The students fulfill requirements for a regular NYC high school diploma plus business credits for MBHS.
Murry Bergtraum was a furrier and was active in the furrier's union, as well as, in local politics prior to becoming President of the Board of Education. His wife, Edith, was a public school teacher for over 20 years. She, too, was active in political and civic organizations, served on school boards, was appointed to the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women, and has the distinction of having an elementary school in Queens named after her.
Bergtraum, I have been told, comes from the German and means "mountain dream".
MBHS has 3400 students and 200 teachers.
