Read and interpret from a leader point of view.
1. If Uly & Tele were administrative leaders, what are their
styles?
different?
same?
Uly is a visionary
Tele a caretaker.

2. If they were to pursue educ reform how would they do it?
Uly would start charter school.
Tele would follow status quo.

3. Which style do we need?

4. What are your chief strengths?
guts, vision, tinkerer, innovative, able to recycle, versatile,
always looking for new, historical

5. What would you most like to improve?
Social skills, less arrogant, steady (I move on), details,
compromising, loner

Moral authority, what is appropriate in one sit may not be approp
     in another

dealing within a system, leader is not sole, it passes down,
     recognize other leadership roles, in others

values, collective vision, shared vision, 

knowing self, balancing life (public-private)

truth works best
balance in acting
open up and listening to pop., nothing swept under rug, candid, 
don't place blame
own discomfort
decision followed by actions, followup, 
leadership through other pop, 
kids and schools at center
Is there an optimal time to make a change?  having time to allow
     to grow is good, there is a window

risk taking
have to take the heat, can't reveal things,

integrate different studies into problem of practice as that
problem can be applied to paper.

theory to practice.

take it in May
3 weeks prior we get a case study

Dept rules distribute 2-3 weeks before test

use lit as analytic use of Bolman & Deal to analyze situation,
don't just name drop.  Integrate name and work into sentence.

Know two or three of the books in each area of concentration as
prep for case book. see bibliography
