Ted Nellen
I am a high school English teacher at a NYC public high school. I began teaching high
school English in 1974 in a private school. During 1979-81, I was an
editor at Harcourt Brace Jovonovich. After rejoining education, I
acquired my first computer English class in 1983 and also acauired my
first email account. I began using the Internet in my class in 1986. In
1992 I connected my 34 computer classroom to the net and began teaching
CyberEnglish.
Currently I am in a doctoral
program and have the idealist goal of assisting the NYC BOE in preparing its
200,000 teachers to use the net. I am an Internet evangelist and have
written extensively on it and practiced it. This is why I am so
enthusiastic about this Committee. It is through my writings where you
can best learn about me.
